I love giving books for Christmas  because they basically last forever, and they can be passed down from generation to generation.  Now is that eco-friendly re-using, or what?

Here are Tristin and Tyler’s Top 5 Christmas Books! With a little commentary from the boyz themselves!

1. THE POLAR EXPRESS By: Chris Van Allsburg

A long adventure-filled train ride to the North Pole. Boy does T&T love this movie and the book. What amazing imagery! Tyler’s favorite part: “When the kids finally get to see Santa after the long trip!”

2. THE COOLEST SNOW MAN EVER By: Siobhan Ciminera

This book has stickers and holiday stencils. Done. Tristin’s favorite part: “This book has stickers and stencils!”

3. A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS By: Charles M. Schulz

Who doesn’t love Charlie Brown? The poor guy! Even at Christmas he has a hard time! I love that all of Charlie Brown’s books have some sort of conflict, but in the end, it’s all resolved — just the way life should be!  Tyler’s favorite part: “I like when Charlie goes to visit Lucy for help in her psychiatry booth. Charlie had to pay 5 cents for help. That’s a lot!”

4. FANCY NANCY’S SPLENDIFEROUS CHRISTMAS By: Jane O’Connor

You can never go wrong with a ton of accessories and a smile! Fancy Nancy is the best, and always aims to please. Tristin’s favorite part: “I like when Fancy Nancy decorates the tree, she is so good at it!”

5. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS By: Natasha Wing

Everything goes wrong for this spunky family of four this holiday season, but in the end it reminder the family what is most important: L.O.V.E.

Tyler’s favorite part: “I like when the cat and mouse chase eachother and they ruin the house, including the Christmas tree! Yikes!”

Tristin and Tyler are excited to get started on their healthy eating campaign to encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables and get some exercise! Launching in February, the campaign will feature weeks of videos, blog posts and advice from your favorite twins and some pretty healthy friends on how to eat right and get movin’!

One of the episodes you will be happy to see during the campaign is the boyz interviewing the Super Sprowtz, the awesome vegetable super heros!

If you haven’t heard of the Super Sprowtz, you’ve been missing a WHOLE LOTTA FUN!  Super Sprowtz creator Radha Agrawal is making kids LOVE their veggies by using books, hand puppets and soon TV (YAY!) to tell compelling stories about vegetables who save the day!

Oh! Almost forgot –  if you’re visiting The Children’s Museum of Manhattan anytime soon, be sure to check out the Super Sprowtz at the Eat Sleep Play exhibit! It’s so cool!

Check this fun video out and stay tuned for more coming soon!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Okay so, was I the only one who noticed that the weather in NYC yesterday was ahhmazing? Sort of weird since the boyz have been wearing down jackets for two weeks, but whose complaining?

WHAT THEY WORE

Nothing says Fall better than a GAP barn jacket with a cordoroy collar and elbow pads.  Yesterday I added button down shirts from Ralph Lauren, some jeans and presto, the boyz were ready for the day!

Oh, the boys decided to pull out the shades - what do you think?

Did you have nice weather too? What did you put on the kids?

Tristin and Tyler love showing you guys Kwik Klips, fun videos under 3 minutes that make you and the kiddos smile! :)   In this week’s Kwik Klip, the boyz meet the ladies of Moms and the City and their little ones, at a screening of the new movie THE MUPPETS

The entire MUPPETS gang is back again and they are putting together an amazing musical for all ages!

The movie was great fun. Just what I remember about the Muppets from the good ole’ days: celebrity cameos, singing, dancing and a lot of corky jokes! I felt like a kid again!

After you stuff your face with turkey (and everything else) on Thanksgiving, make sure to take the kids to see the movie! It opens in theatres on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2011.  Thanks to Moms and the City for the invitation!

NOW, CHECK OUT THE VIDEO and ask yourself:

WHOSE YOUR FAVORITE MUPPET?

Tristin and Tyler were invited by the fabulous ladies of  MOMS AND THE CITY to attend an advanced screening of THE MUPPETS MOVIE  which opens in theaters on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd!

Tristin, Tyler and friends in costume getting ready for the screening!

Stay tuned for a video tomorrow about the screening with Tristin, Tyler the Moms and their kiddos in which Tristin and Tyler asked movie goers: “Whose your favorite Muppet?” Want to know their answers?

STAY TUNED!

In the meantime, check out what T & T wore to the screening!

On the next episode of Tristin and Tyler’s Tales from the City! Tristin and Tyler support STAT! For New York City’s Public Hospitals.  A week-long, New York City wide, “star-filled series of concerts and performances celebrate and benefit the work of our public hospitals and healthcare facilities in these challenging times.”

Tyler, Tristin and Floor Obsession Crew

Tristin and Tyler were recently invited to attend the kick-off event, a family musical called “You Haven’t Seen This Before.” The musical featured The Broadway Boys, gospel great Valerie Boyd, The Kids of Broadway, Paulie Litt and Floor Obsession Crew  among many others!

Making Eco Moves! That’s what Tristin and Tyler are doing in the next episode of Tristin and Tyler’s Tales from the City! with Fun Art teacher

Laurie Rivlin Caspert of the FunArt Bus!

Laurie gathers up materials that would otherwise be thrown into the trash and recycles them into fun crafts with kiddies!

Tyler picking out his materials for his craft!

WHAT’S COOL?

Getting on a school bus that has been turned into an art studio! No more huge seats and small aisles, this bus has been remodeled to look like your favorite art class!

The mobile art studio!

WHAT’S SMART?

The fact this bus can go just about anywhere and bring the party to you is super smart. You can have a birthday party, or just a fun day crafting and not leave your neighborhood!

BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE EPISODE

Laurie is SUPER FUN! It’s easy to see why she is a teacher. She treats the kids like gold, and loves to help them get creative.

The kids did NOT want to leave the bus.

The kids crafting up a storm!

Trying to shoot the episode, AND keep the kids away from the crafts and the dry erase board on the front of the bus was HARD!

But we got through it and we have an amazing episode as a result!

Tyler having fun with Laurie!

Would you craft on a mobile EcoCraft Art Studio?

STAY TUNED AND FIND OUT HOW COOL THE BUS IS FOR YOURSELF!

Mommy is Entertaining!

Do you have time to entertain? I mean, other than entertaining the kiddies? Me either, so I was excited to attend two events, hosted by two ahhmazing women, to learn some entertaining tips, trends and tricks to make entertaining easy! Thanks to MOM TRENDS and LIZA AMERICA’S HOST, I am ready to be the hostess with the mostest!

If you’re not familiar with MOM TRENDS, get familiar! MOM TRENDS is a great blog and resource on what’s hot for kids and mamas alike started by Nicole Feliciano.

So, what did I learn? Put a spin on the classics! Regular donuts at an event? Nope! BOOZY donuts at an event? Oh yeah! Boozy donuts are regular donuts literally injected with a small amount of liquor. Fun, huh?

How about bringing back the punch bowl and adding some decorative edible flowers (which I didn’t know existed, by the way) for a decorative punch!

Making Boozy Donuts!

Takeaway? Make the ordinary, extraordinary! Check out this Mom Trends post for some amazing photos of the event! My camera was not cooperating. :(

Thanks, MOM TRENDS!

The next event was hosted by Liza America’s Host. Check out her website for tons of tips on “celebrating every day.” Liza is a mom who has owned two restaurants, so she knows how to entertain and get cookin’!

I think one of the most important lessons I learned was to be myself when entertaining and don’t worry so much!

Are you worry wart like me? Liza says entertaining is all about being yourself and taking it easy!

Liza showed us that cooking can be short, sweet and still D-LISH by showing us how to make an amazingly quick pizza with apples and manchego cheese, and a dessert perfect for the holidays with a hint of peppermint! Yum! Check her site here for the recipes!

Pizza made in 4 minutes!

Dessert!

All in all I realized that even with my nuts schedule, I too can entertain! I just have to find the right food, put a spin on things and, of course, be myself!

Are you big entertainer? Do you like to be the host?
